Huawei will officially launch the Mate 80 series, the foldable Mate X7, and its MatePad Edge tablet in China on November 25. The MatePad Edge is particularly noteworthy as it is Huawei’s first HarmonyOS 2-in-1 tablet, designed to combine the best of a tablet and laptop experience with a detachable keyboard, pop-out rear stand, and a slim, uniquely shaped circular dual-camera module. The MatePad Edge specs have leaked ahead of the official launch, and here are the detailed leaked specs, features, variants & pricing.

Huawei MatePad Edge Leaked Specs and Features

The MatePad Edge features a large 14.2 inch display with a 3120×2080 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Although the tablet is large, it is lightweight at just 6.85mm thick and 780g. According to the leak, the device includes an impressive 94% screen-to-body ratio and ultra-thin bezels on all four sides. It is also rumored to support high and low frequency audio crossover for an enhanced sound experience.

Powering the device is a 12,800mAh battery paired with 140W fast charging. The detachable keyboard supports virtual key mapping to enhance mobile gaming. Huawei is promoting the Edge as a true hybrid between tablet and PC, running HarmonyOS at its core. The operating system reportedly supports over 300,000 native apps and around 13,000 Windows applications through compatibility layers.

In the camera department, the MatePad Edge offers a solid setup. It includes a 50MP main rear sensor paired with an 8MP ultrawide camera. On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera built into an extremely slim module with no notch interrupting the display.

Additionally, the tipster mentions that the tablet can boot directly into a Windows environment, supports DirectX 11, and offers HarmonyOS screen projection, Windows expansion mode, and the ability to pin shortcuts to Windows apps directly on the HarmonyOS home screen.

For gaming, the MatePad Edge is reportedly capable of running titles such as Warcraft and Red Alert 2 without issues. Huawei is also expected to support a detachable keyboard and stylus aimed at professionals seeking a versatile hybrid device.
