Huawei Confirms Mate 80 Series Launch, Reveals Design Ahead of Official Debut

A Shenzhen-based tech company, Huawei, has confirmed the most anticipated Mate 80 series & set the launch event in China on 25 November 2025 at 2:50 PM. The company has also revealed the design and color options for all of the models before launch. Executive Director Yu Chengdong shared a short video that shows the first look of the Mate 80 Pro Max and introduced the installation of the RS Ultimate Design model. The series includes the Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro Max, and Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design, completing Huawei’s latest flagship family. The Mate 80 and Mate 80 Pro have a very similar design, featuring a fresh circular rear camera module that holds three sensors, including a periscope telephoto lens. A notable feature of the series is the dual front cameras that enable enhanced 3D face unlocking, along with the introduction of magnetic charging for the first time.

The Mate 80 & Mate 80 Pro both will come in four colors that are Dawn Gold, Obsidian Black, Snowy White, and Spruce Green. Mate 80 will be available in three storage options that includes 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB and 16GB+512GB. While Mate 80 Pro will have four storage variants including 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, 16GB+512GB and the top-end variant with 16GB+1TB.

The Mate 80 Pro Max strengthens the series with a more sophisticated imaging system, equipped with a quad-rear camera setup featuring dual periscope telephoto lenses. It shares the same dual front cameras as the rest of the series. The Mate 80 Pro Max will be offered in 16GB+512GB and 16GB+1TB versions, in Aurora Blue, Polar day Gold, Polar night Black, and Polar Silver.

Completing the line-up is the Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design, which features a unique design and an octagonal rear camera module. The Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design comes with an impressive 20GB of RAM paired with 512GB and 1TB versions. Mate 80 RS will have three colors: Dark Black, Pure White, and the new Hibiscus Purple. The Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design edition takes a bold new approach, showcasing an octagonal camera module complemented by signature Huawei and Ultimate Design branding.

Rumors suggest all models of Mate 80 series will run Huawei’s first brand new Kirin flagship chipset, the 9030, which would replace the Kirin 9020 found in the Mate 70 series. Huawei has started Pre-orders for the Mate 80 series, and customers can secure their device by paying a 200 yuan deposit. However, the full price is not disclosed by the company yet.
