Huawei Launched Mate 80 Series with New Kirin Chips – Check Out Prices Here

Huawei has launched the Mate 80 series in China, including the base Mate 80 and the more premium Mate 80 Pro, with the addition of two high-end variants: Mate 80 Pro Max and the luxury featured Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design. The new Mate 80 series brings a faster in-house processor and debuts a dual telephoto camera system, delivering better performance and improved zoom capabilities across the lineup. Here are the detailed specs and features of the Mate 80 series.

Huawei Mate 80 & 80 Pro Specs & Features

The Huawei Mate 80 and Mate 80 Pro are nearly identical in design, sharing several key components, including the display and battery. Both devices use a 6.75 inch LTPO OLED display with a maximum of 120Hz refresh rate, 1280×2832 pixel resolution, support for 1.07 billion colors, and covering the full P3 color gamut. The Mate 80/Pro’s displays have PWM dimming at 1440Hz, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, and Huawei has claimed these displays are the brightest smartphone displays ever produced, with peak brightness of 8000 nits.

Huawei’s second-generation Kunlun Glass protects the display. Both smartphones feature a 3D Time of Flight camera for facial scanning on the front, and they also include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for extra security. Furthermore, both devices offer satellite communication for greater connectivity.

The Mate 80 Pro is powered by the Kirin 9030, while the Mate 80 uses the Kirin 9020. Huawei claims the 9030 is 35% faster than the 9020. The Mate 80 Pro Max features the Kirin 9030 Pro, which is about 42% faster than the 9020 and roughly 7% faster than the standard 9030. Both devices have 5750mAh batteries. The vanilla Mate 80 supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging, while the Mate 80 Pro comes with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.

Huawei Mate 80’s camera setup consists of a 50MP primary camera, a 40MP ultra-wide camera, and a 12MP Telephoto camera boasting 5.5x zoom capabilities, while the Mate 80 Pro features the same 50MP primary camera and 40MP ultra-wide lens but instead comes with a superior 48MP telephoto camera and 4x optical zoom. In addition, both models utilize Huawei’s 2nd Generation Red Maple chipset to aid in capturing stunning photos and producing more vibrant and vivid colors when taking pictures.

Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max & Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design Specs & Features

The Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max and Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design feature all of the same premium capabilities. They both have 6.9 inch dual-layer OLED LTPO displays with 120Hz refresh and maximum brightness levels of 8000 nits. Both feature the Kirin 9030 Pro processor as well as HarmonyOS 6.

The Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max and Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design feature a quad rear camera system. The quad camera includes a 50 MP main camera featuring an adjustable aperture, Optical Image Stabilization, a 40 MP ultrawide camera, a 50 MP macro (telephoto), and a 50 MP periscope telephoto that has up to 6.2x optical zoom. All of the cameras utilize the company’s second-generation Red Maple Image Processing chip.

Both devices come with a 13MP front facing camera for capturing selfies and providing added features that are based on 3D depth sensing technology. Also, both phones come equipped with a large capacity battery of 6000mAh that is capable of charging at very fast rates via the latest technology. Both Pro Max & RS Ultimate, support 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. They also have an IP68/IP69 rating (waterproof), dual-band Wi-Fi 6, as well as Bluetooth 6.0, satellite communication capabilities, NFC capabilities, and include stereo speakers and infrared sensors. The Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max is available in four colors including Aurora Blue, Polar Day Gold, Polar Region Silver and Polar Night Black.

The Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design features an exclusive design, including a modified rear camera module and a new back. Specs wise, it is largely similar to the Pro Max, sharing the same chipset, display, cameras, and battery. The key difference is that it comes with a massive 20GB of RAM as standard. The Huawei Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design is available in Hibiscus Purple, Jet Black and Pure White colors.
